What is IdleRPG?
IdleRPG is an idle role-playing game that runs in an IRC channel. Your character gains experience over time, levels up, finds items, and can battle other players — all while you're away or doing other things. The game is fully automated and runs 24/7.

Key Features:
  • 🐉 Dungeons & Raids — Auto-formed parties explore dungeons and raids
  • 🏰 Guild System — Build structures, hire workers, declare wars
  • ⚔️ Combat — Battle other players and bosses
  • 📜 Quests — Time-based and location-based adventures
  • 10-Tier Quality System — From Common to Cosmic items
  • 🔧 Crafting — Create items with the CRAFT command
  • 👑 Guild Level Cap — Reach level 100 for legendary status
  • 🌐 Multi-Network Support — Play on DALnet and SkyChatz
How do I start playing?
To start playing IdleRPG:
  1. Register — Use REGISTER <character> <password> [class] in the game channel
  2. Login — Use LOGIN <character> <password>
  3. Play! — Your character will automatically gain experience over time

Example: REGISTER MyHero secret123 warrior

You can also register without specifying a class — one will be randomly assigned!

💡 Tip: Available classes: warrior, hunter, priest, mage, monk, demon_hunter, evoker, paladin, rogue, shaman, warlock, druid, death_knight, guardian, engineer

🌐 Network: You can play on DALnet (#SkyRPG) or SkyChatz (#SkyRPG) — characters are shared across both networks!

What are the system requirements?
All you need is an IRC client connected to the network! No downloads or installations required. The game runs entirely on the server side. Any IRC client (mIRC, HexChat, KiwiIRC, webchat, etc.) works perfectly.
Do I need to stay online to play?
No! IdleRPG is an idle game. Your character continues to gain experience even when you're offline. However, you do need to be online to use commands like BATTLE, BOSS, CRAFT, and to participate in quests and dungeons. Being online also grants you idle income and allows you to interact with the community.
⚔️ Game Mechanics 7 questions
How does leveling up work? ⭐ Leveling
Leveling up in IdleRPG is automatic! Your character gains experience over time.
  • TTL (Time To Level) — This is the time remaining until your next level
  • You can check your TTL with WHOAMI or STATUS
  • Higher levels take longer to reach (the formula scales exponentially)
  • You can reduce your TTL by: BATTLE, BOSS, QUESTS, DUNGEONS, and random events

When you level up, you gain gold and may find new items!

💡 Tip: The BOSS command gives the best TTL reduction!

🏰 Guild Bonus: Members get +5 guild XP when leveling up!

How does combat work? ⚔️ Combat
Combat in IdleRPG is automatic and based on your character's power:
  • Item Power — The total level of all your equipped items
  • Class Bonus — Some classes get combat bonuses
  • Alignment Bonus — Good and Evil alignments provide small bonuses
  • Guild Perks — Combat Mastery adds +50 power per member (Guild Level 7+)

Use BATTLE to fight another player (1 hour cooldown, reduced by guild perks)

Use BOSS to fight a boss monster (2 hour cooldown, reduced by guild perks)

Winning battles reduces your TTL and earns gold!

🌐 Cross-Network: You can duel players from other networks!

What are items and how do I get them?
Items are equipment that increase your character's power.
  • 10 item slots: Amulet, Charm, Helmet, Boots, Gloves, Ring, Leggings, Shield, Tunic, Weapon
  • 10 Quality Tiers: ⬜ Common → 🟩 Uncommon → 🔵 Rare → 🟣 Epic → 🟡 Legendary → 🔴 Mythic → ✨ Divine → ⭐ Eternal → 👑 Exalted → 🌌 Cosmic
  • How to get items: Leveling up, completing quests, dungeons/raids, random events, and CRAFT command
  • Item level — Items have levels (1-100+). Higher levels and better quality = more power!

Use ITEMS or INVENTORY to view your items!

💡 Tip: The CRAFT command requires a guild with a Forge (Level 5+). Engineers get a 25% discount!

What is alignment and how does it affect me?
Alignment represents your character's moral stance:
  • Good — 5% combat bonus, affected by Goodness events
  • Neutral — No bonuses or penalties
  • Evil — 3% combat bonus, affected by Evilness events

Change your alignment with ALIGN <good|neutral|evil>

How do quests work? 📜 Quest
Quests are special events that randomly start in the game:
  • 4 players are selected as quest participants
  • Time-based quests — Complete before time runs out (25% TTL reduction)
  • Map-based quests — Reach specific locations on the map (2 waypoints)
  • Completing a quest reduces TTL by 25% and rewards gold + items
  • Guild members earn 10 guild XP for completing a quest

Use QUEST to see the current quest status, or visit the Quest page!

⚠️ Warning: Leaving the channel during a quest will penalize your character and may cause the entire quest to fail!

What are random events?
Random events add excitement to the game and can affect all players:
  • ✋ Hand of God — Randomly blesses or smites a player
  • 💀 Calamity — Bad luck befalls a player
  • ✨ Godsend — Good fortune for a player
  • ⚔️ Team Battle — Two teams of 3 players fight each other
  • 😈 Evilness — Affects players with evil alignment
  • 🌟 Goodness — Affects players with good alignment

These events happen randomly based on the number of online players!

What is the 10-Tier Quality System? ✨ Quality

Tier Name Emoji Chance Description
aCommon5-15%Basic items, most common
